NOLA

Eilene and I bought tickets to New Orleans back in October for $69 bucks. We picked a random weekend in January. Fast forward to this weekend... the NO Saints are in the playoffs...against the Vikings... in New Orleans. AWESOME!

So our seemingly calm weekend in NOLA has transformed into a jam packed town full of Beer and Football. Luckily, we like that!

I am leaving in the morning at 8:35am. We should be in NOLA by 9:45am. I can't wait to share pictures and stories. I am sure there will be plenty!!

Friends from a distance...

Sunday, Cory brought Zoey and we went to my parents house to hang out. Walker was there so he and Zoey played with toys AND watched TV. We visited with my parents. It was very enjoyable.
My friend Erin came in town from Seattle. She met us at my parents house, then we went to dinner at Gringos. We had a couple margaritas and just caught up with what was going on in our lives. She got to meet Cory and I was happy about that. I love sharing him with people that I love.Zoey was a little tired and got a little clingy.. to me and i loved it. :)

We had a nice dinner. We also got ice cream and took pictures.
After dinner, we parted our ways. The Blacks went home to get in bed, Erin and I went to my house to catch up! IT is true that you don't realize how much you miss someone until they come back...

Beauty for Ashes

He gives beauty for ashes
Strength for fear
Gladness for mourning
Peace for despair

When sorrow seems to surround you
When suffering hangs heavy oer your head
Know that tomorrow brings
Wholeness and healing
God knows your need
Just believe what He said

When what youve done keeps you from moving on
When fear wants to make itself at home in your heart
Know that forgiveness brings
Wholeness and healing
God knows your need
Just believe what He said

This is from a song that is sung by Crystal Lewis. It is beautiful. I heard the reference to the bible verse on television this morning. I watched Joel Osteen and Dr. Young from Second Baptist. I really enjoyed him. Too bad his church is so far away.

They both talked about love. Agape Love. A giving love. Encompassing love.

I want to love like that. Sometimes I use wimpy love. I want to have MIGHTY love.

# 1 commandment... love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and body...
#2 commandment... love neighbor as you love yourself...

how can we love?

make LOVE number 1.

ying-yang

i am happy and i am sad.

i was supposed to go to Temple for a wonderful girls weekend. there was a schedule change and it affected me. although i exhausted all resources, no one was able to cover and i was forced to cancel the trip. life lesson: get things in writing. always. have fun for me this weekend girls. happy birthday JP!

ANYWAYS... this weekend had been good so far. i came home, farmed, worked on Petville and even cooked something up in Cafe world.. man i love facebook apps! then i took a little nap and headed over to cory's house. cory greeted me outside with a little kiss. when i walked up, zoey started jumping up and down yelling, megans here!!! it made me smile.

we spent the evening eating pretend cupcakes and building castles with blocks. we watched a little bit of tv and then it was time to go home. i can't wait to see what else will happen this weekend.

My job!

My job. I love it.

We make faces.

We color pictures.

We appreciate art.

We watch YouTube.

We read.

We smile without showing teeth.

We make sad faces.

I love my job. Really. I do.

Weigh Watchers

I joined.

WW at Work.

Technically it isn't my work, but luckily the teachers at PHS like me and extended the invitation to me. Now, I am not actually excited about this. I am not excited that I have to sit through meetings because I don't have enough self control to take charge of what i eat. I am not excited about the number on the scale. I guess I am just glad there is a solution. I have seen several people succeed on the WW program. What I like is that I am investing in a lifestyle adjustment and not a diet.I will be using the POINTS program for 17 weeks and hopefully by the end of this time, I will know how to judge what I eat and when. I guess cutting down the beer will be first cut.

So, we are starting today January 12th and ending May 12th. Sounds good to me. This includes a wedding that I am in and ends right before my birthday. Yay!

Wish me luck!

BEFORE: Me weighing too much!

Girlfriends

You know.... I have some amazing friends that I met in college. They are some of my favorite people. The bad thing is that I don't get to see them very often. This makes me sad.... But don't worry Jennifer, Ashley, EE, and Carrie..... I have some good friends to hold down the fort until I get to see you!!!

Haven't met you yet...

The other day, Cory and I were in the car going somewhere when a song came on that I had never heard before. Cory said... You know this song came out and shortly after, I met you....

Here is the song...
I'm Not Surprised
Not Everything Lasts
I've Broken My Heart So Many Times,
I Stop Keeping Track.
Talk Myself In
I Talk Myself Out
I Get All Worked Up
And Then I Let Myself Down.

I Tried So Very Hard Not To Loose It
I Came Up With A Million Excuses
I Thought I Thought Of Every Possibility

And I Know Someday That It'll All Turn Out
You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid That I'll Give So Much More Than I Get
I Just Haven't Met You Yet

Mmmmm ....

I Might Have To Wait
I'll Never Give Up
I Guess It's Half Timing
And The Other Half's Luck
Wherever You Are
Whenever It's Right
You Come Out Of Nowhere And Into My Life

And I Know That We Can Be So Amazing
And Baby Your Love Is Gonna Change Me
And Now I Can See Every Possibility

Mmmmm ......

And Somehow I Know That It Will All Turn Out
And You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid I'll Give So Much More Than I Get
I Just Haven't Met You Yet

They Say All's Fair
And In Love And War
But I Won't Need To Fight It
We'll Get It Right
And We'll Be United

And I Know That We Can Be So Amazing
And Being In Your Life Is Gonna Change Me
And Now I Can See Every Single Possibility

Mmmm .....

And Someday I Know It'll All Turn Out
And I'll Work To Work It Out
Promise You Kid I'll Give More Than I Get
Than I Get Than I Get Than I Get

Oh You Know It'll All Turn Out
And You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid To Give So Much More Than I Get
Yeah I Just Haven't Met You Yet

I Just Haven't Met You Yet
Oh Promise You Kid
To Give So Much More Than I Get

I Said Love Love Love Love Love Love Love .....
I Just Haven't Met You Yet
Love Love Love .....
I Just Haven't Met You Yet

I was coming home from Corys house last night trying to remember the song... All of a sudden, it started playing on the radio! It was humorous to me. I'm glad we met!

Just thought I would share....

Welcome Back Soldier!

Today, we got to welcome home a HERO, a war veteran, a "brother"...
We were escorted by some members of the US Army to the gate where Felipe would be arriving.
This is one of Felipe's buddies talking to his mother. We were ready for him to arrive.
Angela got to go down the tarmac and greet him when he got to the door of the plane. They walked down together and he was so surprised to see us! It was nice to see all the friends and family to come to the airport to welcome back Lt. Barrera!! It was so cool to see his face when he realized we were there to welcome him home. He was not expecting us!
Walker was his first hug. Are you surprised??
Look at that smile. I am so happy to have him back! We have him home! Our soldier, Our Hero!

The coolest thing I saw was people stop what they were doing, come over and thank a soldier. Someone came by when we were all adjusting our clothing after we passed through security. We were escorted by local soldiers to the USO where we waited for everyone to arrive. The US military showed such hospitality. It was a wonderful experience. Like I said, the coolest thing was hearing someone say thank you and stopping to shake a soldiers hand and encourage them.

Welcome home Felipe. We have missed you!

They squeak!

Yesterday afternoon, Cory and I took Miss Zoey to the movies. Because she was still sleeping when it wax time to go, Cory had to interior her nap! Well they came and picked me up and we headed to the theatre to see Alvin & the Chipmunks. We got there and the show was sold out and we opted for the next showing... an hour away!!! So we went to wait in line. Zoey got a little whiney. I can't really blame her... I didn't want to stand there either!! We made it through somehow!!! About 10 minutes before the show [yes, we waited in line for 50 minutes] they let us in the theatre!!! Zoey was glued to the screen. She didn't even really notice that Cory left for popcorn and a coke... However she noticed his return!!!! The movie started and I don't think she took her eyes off the screen until she tried to climb in my lap to get more comfortable!!! It was a cute movie.... I can still hear the tiny high pitched voices in my head!!!

After the movie, we headed to an unexpected dinner with all of my family minus dad at Casa Ole. The kids had fun playing together and chomping on chips and salsa. We made several trips to the bathroom and played with the hand dryer!!

After dinner, we took Zoey over to sisters to play in the toy room with Walker. They played house, rock band, barbies, pirates, and even sang some karaoke. It was just an enjoyable time. Thanks Sister!.... And Mikey. And Cory.

I got a virus...

I'm so frustrated! I hate mean people that think of these viruses and prey on innocent people. Ugh!

Well happy new year!! I spend most of the day on new years eve with my family. Macy cut and colored my hair. Afterwards I took her over to moms. Then I went home, did some domestic stuff.... And then waited for Cory. He picked me up and we went to the Patricks. We were having lots of fun playing Pit and enjoying family and friends. Afterwards, we headed to Abels house, a co-worker of Cory's.... They shot off fireworks in the middle of the street. We celebrated with a kiss at Midnight.... <3

This morning, I slept in, started to clean up Christmas stuff but just can't bring myself to it. I guess I will have to do it tomorrow. I went over to the Blacks to have New Years dinner. We had pork roast, macaroni and cheese and peas! Yummy!!! Then to top it off we had banana pudding!!!!

Zoey and I played with jewelry and playdoh AKA potato... It was the funniest thing... She just couldn't say it... Here is a photo from my phone. I have a better one but it's on my camera and I can't take them off to upload them because my computer is messed up!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh

Well I am off to bed. I've gotta work in the morning......
