When we arrived, 5 or 6 family members walked out to greet us and unload the car. What a greeting. George introduced himself to me as Lyndsi's pawpaw. I met several others. As we went inside, everyone said how they were related to Lyndsi [former employee, cory's cousin] or Cory. They said they had known about me for 3 weeks and couldn't wait to meet me. It made me feel really good inside. We mingled for about 30 minutes ir so and then it was lunch time. There was so much food.... chicken and dumplings, ribs, brisket, green bean casserole, sausage, sausage balls, pigs in a blanket, queso dip, I mean, you name it and it was there! What an assortment...
After lunch we just sat around and visited. I met the cousins and aunts and uncles. They took a family picture in the backyard. There must have been about 25 or 30 people...maybe more!We watched Zoey and her Uncle Clay play washers in the backyard until it got to chilly sitting in the shade. Some folks played KILLER in the living room [i killed everyone before they could spot me!] , some played dominos in the other room. After a while, the kids busted out the guitars and played while some sang Rudolf and Jingle Bells... Zoey also had everyone sing a couple rounds of Old MacDonald. It was fun. There was no TV, there was just the sounds of laughter and family visiting and enjoying one another.
After some family had left, the turned on the wii and played a few games. The day was long, but it was wonderful. It was just a great time with new friends....
I really enjoyed spending the day with Cory and his family.
